Changing the social culture around drunk driving & organ donation through awareness and education.

MODOT Public Service Announcement – Super Bowl Commercial

Social responsibility is an ethical framework and suggests that an entity, be it an organization or individual, has an obligation to act for the benefit of society at large. It is time that we as individuals take responsibility for our actions, and we as a society take action to change the culture of drunk driving. Drunk driving does not discriminate. The following video illustrates just that and shows real peoples’ reactions to learning one drunk driving story, Liam’s story.  It shows clips of people confronting the fact that drunk driving destroys lives, and no matter who you are, your life could change in an instant.

On September 3, 2016, at only 15 months old, Liam Mikael Kowal was hit by a drunk driver while on a walk with his aunt. It is our hope, that by watching this video, you will decide to take action and help change the culture of drunk driving. We all can play a part in making this change happen: it’s called social responsibility. As Liam’s mother, Mishel, says in this video, “no baby, no child, no mother, no father should have to experience this.” No one should have to experience this. Drunk driving does not have to happen.

Thank you to Liam’s parents, Marcus Kowal and Mishel Eder for allowing us to share their story. You can learn more about the family and their foundation, Liam’s Life, at Liamslife.org.

We also appreciate the help and talent of producer and director Bobby Razak (bobbyrazakmovies.com) for providing the footage of Liam’s family.

As you may notice, a lot of the video was filmed at Logboat Brewing Co. in Columbia, Missouri. Special thanks to Logboat for allowing us to use their space and supporting the mission of raising awareness about impaired driving.
